Prof. Kenji Tanaka leads CUSP AI Research Lab, a dedicated team of 80+ PhD researchers focused on the next frontier of automotive AI. Previously Research Director at Sony AI, Kenji-s groundbreaking work on real-time semantic segmentation won the Best Paper award at CVPR 2019. At CUSP, he directs research in neural perception, end-to-end autonomous driving models, and multi-modal sensor fusion. His team-s work on the Perception Transformer architecture is now integrated into the NavShield 3.0 platform. He holds visiting professorships at Tokyo Institute of Technology and Stanford HAI.

The next leap in autonomous driving will not come from more sensors. It will come from AI that understands the world the way humans do — through context and prediction.
